Real Estate Agents Authority

The Real Estate Agents Authority was launched on Tuesday 17 November 2009.

The authority is there to assist both consumers - people buying or selling a property - and those who work in the real estate industry.  Our focus is to ensure a high standard of service and professionalism within the industry, and provide increased consumer protection.

The Authority is a Crown entity, established under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 to provide independent oversight of the real estate industry, increase consumer protection and raise industry standards.

Your must haves:

These are the most important features you do not want to compromise on. They may include:

• Bedroom numbers
• Location
• Good Sun/evening sun/morning sun
• Sheltered
• Sea/water views
• Garaging
• Section size etc.

Finance

We can advise you of a good mortgage broker if you do not have one. We find our clients like dealing through mortgage brokers as they have access to many different lending institutions, visit you at home or at work (saving you time) and give great independent advice on different loan options and levels available to you.

And their advice is free!

Many of the institutions they recommend can issue you with a pre-approved finance certificate, so you know what you can afford to spend. This avoids disappointment, saves you lots of time and can remove the need to include a finance clause in your offer. This is more attractive to the vendor.

We can also provide contact details for solicitors, valuers etc. that you may need to use for your transaction.
